I think I got lucky with these, so I thought I would share them

Image 1: I was so focused on a nearby doe that I didn't even notice the buck until I was about 20 feet away. Fortunately, he was also quite interested in the doe and didn't run off. I was actually between him and the doe for this picture (perhaps not a safe place to be!)

Images 2 is from just this past weekend... I've never been that close to a coyote before, and this time a pair of them ran right by me. This one stopped briefly to take a look. The picture isn't quite as sharp as I would have liked unfortunately. It was well below freezing, so I'm sure my shaking hands were a contributing factor.

The pictures are straight off the camera since I have no experience with image processing. I'm new to wildlife photography, and photography in general, so if anyone has any suggestions for improvement please let me know. Hopefully these still look okay scaled down to 150kb.

Good efforts.

As a very general rule you don't want to have your subject bang in the middle of a shot, but on this occasion it works for me. Maybe the slightly inquisitive head tilt has done the job.

On the coyote, its a nice shot in good light, but as you already say, a little extra sharpness would not have gone amiss

Thank you. I tried a closer crop on the buck, but I found this worked for me as well (even though he is right in the middle). I just now noticed the "looking at me" thread in these forums, and I'm thinking that it may have been a better submission there haha
