Any ideas on a DIY? or a good place to buy cheaper. does anybody know of off brand that will work?

You can use any brand softbox (even the cheap chinese versions that come with grids) just so long as you use the proper speedring for the Hensel lights. The metal grids for your reflectors, I'm afraid are another story. MARK
