After months of being unhappy with the camera as i wasn't getting results i thought i'd post my setting that may be helpful for others having similar issues.

I like to take a lot of selfies and close up shots of friends and family and when in auto mode the White balance was always off usually the faces looked off yellow or blue and all detail was lost on the face no shadows or cheek bone lines...... Cartoony looking.

So i started jumping into trying program modes and found that AV mode was the best one to run with setting it so the focus was on the centre of the picture ( F3.4) rather than the whole picture in focus which doesn't make the person or object in the centre as sharp looking.

So this was so far my best setting but i did find that although using this setting with the right White Balance selection got me good sharp detailed pics.... it was still a lucky dip depending on the lighting and how far and close you were to it. As sometime the centre subject would be overexposed or underexposed.

So i decided to try out another of the built in setting in Func settings and Cent Weighted AVG and selected Spot ( set brightness based on the inside frame )

This then made sure that the centre object was always near perfect Contrast/Brightness and the background would be fixed to suit the object rather than the centre object being changed to match the whole picture... and this stopped anymore overexposed or underexposed main centre objects.

Hope this helps someone x bw!bw!
