I tried the new 1.4x TC on my 300mm f/2.8 today at the wildlife refuge -- I wasn't quite as close to these guys as it looks. I saw a few more but couldn't get a clear shot of them due to vegetation between me and them. EXIF is embedded in the images.

#1 - Here's a youngster -- probably 5 feet or so.

#2 - Here's the biggest gator I saw today -- probably 8 to 10 feet.

Thanks for looking -- C&C always welcome.

Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

I shot these with a 1DmkII and 300mm f/2.8 with a 1.4x TC. I was on foot at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge which is about five miles from my home in central Florida. You can read more about the refuge at: http://www.fws.gov/lakewoodruff/ (external link) I was on an embankment and these guys were across the canal about 30 or 40 feet from me.

I wasn't sure that DoF would work -- thanks very much for the feedback.
