Purchasing Sigma 35 f/1.4: how to know it is a good copy?

1st pic was focused on wine bottle with blue cap
2nd pic was focused on banana tree behind blue cap wine bottle

no worries, we are always here to help each others

your shots seem fine

if you want to reassure yourself, print a chart on a A4/letter page with a scale (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2) or with a text

and try to focus on the center or the text, it should be sharp

use a tripod to avoid hand shaking

but based on your shots, it seems fine

Really great photos, your copy is a great copy, looks like the AF is working great and the crispness at near wide open is very good and it's nailing it in low light.
