In the Apple videos for the new Mac Pro, it is Pixelmator...not Photoshop....that is used to describe the processing power and speed for processing images.

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

The times have been changing for a while. I'm a former member of the San Jose Photoshop Users Group.

Their meeting has always been hosted by Adobe, at Adobe HQ, with pizza. They used to have interesting speakers, and I would always learn something new from each meeting. People would congregate afterwards, comparing notes on what they'd just heard and seen. A couple of years ago, that started to change, and I noticed that the Group's meetings were more and more about video and less and less about still images. The audience changed as well. One meeting overflowed with doctors, all in suits, who had come to see the other "Extended" part of PS - the 3D stacking stuff, which is probably really important when you're reviewing Cat Scans.

Finally, at one meeting, they hadn't even arranged for a speaker - or he postponed, or whatever...but clearly the focus of the product management group had changed, and was very clearly no longer still images. Their substitute speaker, pulled out of a hat or some back room, started with video, and I left. I quit going after one more meeting. (The pizza was always cold, anyway.)

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.

Pixelmator is the fastest image processing app you can buy without permission from the NSA...

If only it could save 16-bit files.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
