So one of the Master Chief's at work asked me if I'd take a couple portraits of him to use for his retirement ceremony in January. This was the opportune time to use my new Wescott Rapid Box Octa 26 for the first time. I'm really happy with the light from this little softbox. Here are a couple from my quick 15 minute shoot with him in our conference room.

And one pulled back a bit.

These are 2 different shots, by the way, not the same shot cropped. Hind sight is 20/20; I should have used a second speedlight as a hair light to get some separation but overall I'm happy with them. Glad I didn't sell my 50 1.8 a while back since it came it useful for this shoot.

Both are nice. On the 2nd one the face seem a tad bright on the right (his left). Congrats to him. 28+ years is a long time!

I like them both...lean towards # 2. He should be happy...both with his retirement and his portrait.

Definitely #2. I would be honored to take the photo of a man who served his country so faithfully.
