Thanks everyone, you guys always make a guy feel good.

Peter2516 had a question on what lens these were taken with which was the canon 70-200L f/4 at 200mm. I am also adding a shot of a mallard drake that was taken with the canon 300L f/4 hand held in low light conditions then cropped a bunch so he can compare the two lenses somewhat or at least see what his 300 should be capable of doing.

Wow. I don't even photograph wildlife and have none to photograph in my area, but you're even making ME want a 300mm with this picture. ^^ :)

Wow Mike thanks for sharing this. That is one great shot and really sharp in low light condition. I really appreciate it.

Now now fitness, everyone has some kind of wildlife somewhere to photograph. Can't beat the 300L

You're welcome Peter.

Um... the most common "wildlife" in my area are the illegals slipping across the border. I've HEARD that we have some black bears and the occasional mountain lion but I've never witnessed it personally. We do have LOTS of vultures and deer but the deer are ridiculously tiny and very unhealthy looking. I have taken pictures of the Crested Caracara in my area. Sadly, my 70-200 wasn't nearly enough to get any decent pictures of them but I did discover when I got home and downloaded the images that the Crested Caracara is pretty dang ugly. :)
