I was recently gifted a large suitcase full of old Nikon film bodies and lenses An F3 and an FM, with a ton of good lenses between them. With this, I had been shooting film (weird for a 20 year old) and enjoying the heck out of it. I like the old film bodies, the loading the film, the solid feeling of cocking the advance reels, and also the lenses. The manual focus nature of everything felt so... natural compared to the autofocus. So I decided to buy an F to EOS adaptor after a friend recommended one to me. I do not regret this one bit. The results I have gotten have been nothing short of amazing.

And the results-

I'm also back to the community after being gone for a while. It was primarily while getting busy with school and other ventures involving photography. I sorta forgot this great place existed so I am back.

For those of us who shot film and manual focus for years, I'm glad you've discovered the reason we all fell in love with the PROCESS of making a photograph. Enjoy.

Shoot first and ask questions later.

The old lenses are incredible, I have never tried them on FF bodies, but I loved the one I had on my t3i. 50mm 1.8 Yashica lens was WAY better than my canon 50mm 1.8 lens, even with some mold in the optics :P. Whenever I go to a swap meet or a goodwill, I always check out their lenses. Found a whole wrack of lenses and bodies but they were asking WAY too much, near $40 a lens! Enjoy those lenses!

Bodies: Canon 5D3 - Canon 1D4
Lenses: Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM SPORTS - Canon 100mm F2.8 L - Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L - - Canon 85mm F1.2 L V2 - Canon 40mm F2.8 Pancake
Extras: 2 Neewer TT520 Speedlites - Manfrotto 3021BPRO and ballhead

The best lenses I ever mounted on a film body were, in order, the Vivitar Series 1 70-210 f/3.5 and the Vivitar 28-105 f/3.5-4.5. Both were the Tokina variants. Simply wonderful.
