What's the best Speedlite to use with a BB for bird photography? Am planning a trip to the cloud forest in Costa Rica sometime next year and am sure I'll need a good fill flash.

My Gear: 6D, 7D, EOS-M w EF-M 22 f2 STM and EF-M 18-55 f3.5-5.6 IS STM, 17-40L f4, 24-70L f2.8, 100 f2.8 non-IS macro, 70-200L f/4 IS, 400L f5.6,, Canon 1.4x II TC, Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, Better Beamer. Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod, 2 monopods, Manfrotto ballhead and pistol grip tripod heads.

Snydremark my very own Lightrules moment More info | Dec 05, 2013 11:42 | #5 If you're doing birds and a BB, I'd think that a 430EX II would be plenty, but I've only ever had the 580EX II. Glenn Bartley, here, is a very experienced bird photographer using flash; you might try a PM to him and see if he's got any suggestions - Eric S.: My Birds/Wildlife

Scrumhalf Cream of the Crop More info | Dec 05, 2013 18:44 | #7 PM a user named brandrum (Brandon Downing). He has some spectacular bird shots and I am fairly sure he mentioned that he never shoots without a flash. Probably users a Better Beamer or something like that but I am not sure. Sam
