Never seem to find much variety where I am located. What's the best time of year and where can I see something besides Mallards down here?

Hi Betty! Have you explored eBird at all yet.... It`s almost overwhelming but you can narrow it down a lot and customize your search. Here`s a link to one spot in-near Marco Island.

If you go to Fort De Soto on the right there is a pond before the entrance and there is a flock of Ring- Necked Ducks and Red Head Ducks both male and female.

Heya,

All kinds of ducks roll around the central and southern lakes, along with lots of other wonderful birds like eagles and herons and what not. I like to go to Lake Orange for birds. Cozy little place, lots of wild life. I kayak around there.

Very best,
