Shots from the first mens game of the season that I could make it to. Upsetting loss by 2 but it was a good game to watch.

First time out shooting with the Tamron for basketball. Settings were 1/800, f/2.8, ISO 2500. Tamron 70-200 VC paired with my 60D.

C&C welcome as basketball is a weak sport for me.

Ofcourse I shoot to cover ECU so that is why there aren't any of UNCW on offense.

Thanks for looking,

Drew

Great pics, I am loving the Tamron 70-200, no complaints. My wife to be (maybe) went to ECU and loves the shots. Tough shots under the indoor lights, the 60 help up very well. What was your PP process on these. I am using a 7D w/Tamron70-200 Vs and in indoor lighting I am not getting these results..

Thank you, the only reason I didn't level it off was I didn't want to cut off his foot. I liked the action too much to worry about it too much.

Thanks I'm glad to see someone else is really enjoying the lens with me. If you want to show your wife, I cover all ecu and wouldn't mind an extra follower on my Facebook (external link).

As far as the 7D goes, I got rid of mine because it had such poor low light performance and I shoot night football and lots of indoor sports. The 60D does great in low light which means my PP is very simple. All I do is correct the tones and adjust levels a little. These shots have a very small unsharp mask and no noise reduction at all.

So are you always using center point on the 60D, or have you had success using the outer focus points? Overall, how does the AF compare to the 7D? For the insane price the 6D is going for now I am starting to consider it - I know I will love the IQ, just don't want to be disappointed in the AF performance (having till very recently used the 7D).

I always use center point on the 60D, I tried to go to auto and let it choose but I didn't have as much success with it. I do often have it catching the background if the player moves to the left or right of the center point, but I don't find it too lacking. It will do the job until I upgrade to a 1D or the 5DIII depending on which way I go. I don't know anyone that has had experience from using the 6D for sports so I can't help with anything there.
