I traded my old 70-200mm f/2.8L for the new 70-200mm f/2.8L II and the Lee filter adapter ring no longer fits on the front of the lens. It appears that the threads on the adapter aren't deep enough to engage the threads on the front of the lens. All other filters work fine.

Is there a different adapter ring I should purchase to make this work?

It should fit, I sometimes have trouble fitting my adapter rings on the front of my lenses, I just have to keep spinning them and trying different amounts of pressure/different angles.

Box up all that Lee stuff and send it to me, it'll never work on your new 70-200. Or...if you must keep the Lee's.... send me your II and I'll send you my non IS...the non IS adapts to the Lee's perfectly ;)

Canon S100 and Canon 7D, Canon 28-300L 3.5/5.6 IS, Canon 70-200L 2.8 non IS, Canon 10-22 I'll give it a lil "l", Canon 50 1.8, LEE 10X Filter, Benro Travel Angel A-169....REI back pack, hiking boots and a photogenic black labrador

No problem with mine. Contact Lee (USA) by email and explain the problem. They are very responsive and can probably resolve your problem one way or another.
