Has anyone ever had to re-microadjust their lenses for the winter time? Im talking a full and large focus shift for ALL of my lenses. Sigma 50mm, 70-200L, 85 1.8, sigma 24-70 and even the 100L. Obviously items shrink and shift a good bit when the weather changes but I dont ever remember reading about such a large shift.

I've noticed that AF often changes according to what light I shoot under. Indoor yellow incandescent produces different AF than outdoor light for instance. That may be part of the reason. Winter here is mostly cloudy which is different K than sunny, but I don't know, just thinking loud. :)

I thought new firmware fixes the problem with old firmware where camera will pick different MA values from the ones being set. But do write down the existing values before doing the upgrade.

Well, you can read the settings you had from the Exif of pictures taken before the upgrade ... ;)

Er, I'm pretty sure MA values aren't recorded in Exif.

They are, but to see them you need some serious software, like Canon Digital Photo Professional.

Speaking of which, I have DPP installed but it won't open DNG files from my 5D Mk3. Do you know if theres a way of making it do so, please?

I normally use ACR for processing and have it defaulted to open in .dng.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The only tool I have that will display the AF Microadjustment value from a .dng file Exif is RawDigger, recently released as a regular payable version, currently at promotional prices.
