Hello,

Has anyone used a bird cam for shorting a time lapse video of a wedding? I am thinking about doing this at a family wedding. I have no experience with these cams but I heard their battery life is excellent for this type of stuff.

Initially I was thinking of using a webcam but their resolution is pretty low, they require a power sources and a laptop. Not a very ideal portable solution for a typical wedding venue.

I am estimating around 11K images if I am to take one shot every 2 seconds for a 6 hour event. I don't really want that type of load onto my dslr.

My questions are:
Has anyone used these bird cams; if so, are he hey any good for this type of stuff?

Any recommendations on a model?

Is there a better solution for this?

Thanks.

I have not my self done Time-Lapse work, but if you look to the bottom of this page in the Similar Threads section you will see that your title sparked a forum "mini-search" with a few results!

Thanks Tony. I have looked at these (now) and did a ton of more googling. Finally, I think I found an elegant solution right at home. It seems my JVC HD Cam has a built-in capability to do time-lapse videos. You simply select an interval from a wide range of choices and click record. It will take images and record them as a video. It takes two SD cards so there is plenty of storage to work with. Also, since it is not recording images individually but as a video, your storage requirements are much smaller. So far a quick test has resulted in a decent looking capture. :-)

Time for me to go do more capturing.
