I could use some honest feedback on these as they are my first attempts. I have been reading a ton on here and looking at a lot of photos.

Bought the Rokinon 14mm lens and can't find a decent profile for LR5 for it.

Equipment other than lens is Canon 1d Mark III and Photomatix Pro timer and trusty tripod and head.

Here are my two best from November 28th.

These were shot in Noble, Oklahoma at my brother's pond. Light pollution from the general Oklahoma City metroplex was pretty bad even though he is out in the country.

Exposure was 28 seconds at ISO 3200, f/2.8.

I would appreciate honest C&C. Any comments on PP, framing, etc.

I have heard that there is a profile for the rokinon online somewhere that you can download, I'm looking into buying this lens soon too.

As for the photos- they look good, but you can tell there is a lot of light pollution that is holding you back. I'm just recently getting into astrophotography myself and I realized I had go a lot further from towns and cities than I had thought. I would try again but drive as far as you can away from any cities or towns.

I just went out for my second time and drove deep into the national forest near me and it was so worth it

Heya,

Looks good to me. Post processing looks fine, not overly done and not too noisy.

Very best,

Great shots. You've really got a talent for birds though!

I'm liking the 2nd shot more than the first :)

I have only used this lens for a maximum of 5 minutes and plan on buying one one day, but for the shots I did take, I just used the Canon 14mm profile in LR5, worked fine :)

Have you tried the Adobe profiles? They have one for a crop camera and one for a ff. I find they work better than those from PT lens actually.

Cool shots by the way. Especially the second is very nice.

Shots look good to me. I got my LR profile using the adobe profile downloader. Not sure if they have your camera though
