Also feel like the trees on the right shore are all leaning toward the water...could be real or could need a lens correction. BigSkyKen

You should give the technique a try. It really amps up your landscapes. I have tried that and I did a series of bracketed photos and did the HDR treatment. Nonetheless, I had one shot that had the entire range, without clipping, and with Adobe RAW, got a much better result than the HDR. cheers, Paul

nittaya Member 122 posts Joined Jul 2013 Location: dubai More info | for landscape scenes you can do exposer bracketing. ie one or two shots exposing for highlights and one or two shots to get good details of shadows.then in photoshop working in layers you use masking to get the highlights of underexposed shot and shadows of overexposed shot. This is called digital blending.digital blending for many a landscapes especially seascapes is straight forward many a times you can use even gradiant for masking.

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | Exposure bracketing probably would have helped prevent the sky from being over exposed but I think the magenta color cast throws everything off more for me. It seems to help draw a bit more attention to the interesting foreground elements (and eliminates the blown out sky portion as a bonus). Though I attempted some color adjustment, this was done on a non-calebrated monitor at work, so the color could be off. Its mainly the crop that I wanted to experiment with.
