How would you feel if this happened to you?
I know I would be quite angry...

I guess this comes down to a lack of discussion between all parties.
The Bride and Groom MUST tell everyone what THEY want. The vicar/host and venue people MUST say what is acceptable and doable.
The photographers and videographers MUST see what each need and require to do the job.
They were both doing their jobs without realising the effect of each other.

This could be an example for how 'not' to shoot a wedding.

Regardless of the impact on the video, that is just far too obtrusive for a solemn ceremony in my opinion.

From an outside point of view i agree but if the couple and the vicar had said it was what they wanted then the end results will be how happy they were with the photos.
The bride and groom probably didn't notice too much at the time but the photos as well as the marriage [we hope] will last along time.

The thing is it looks like they are using some 24-70mm or medium zoom lenses on those cameras and I don't understand why they are like three feet away from the subjects. Are they trying to get those super close up shots or what??

Sorry,, I disagree. The videographer was a goose. Did he/she think the still photographers might want shots as well? Why set up where he/she did, and on a tripod. The video dude was a selfish brat.

How would he/she feel if the stills guys set up where the vidographer did?

When I was working for a newspaper, I was assigned to cover a pretty important political press conference. We had the local media plus an out of town film crew.attended. The film crew set up right in front of the conference table, meaning no one could get shots from right in front. The local TV station shooters used shoulder held cameras so they were totally mobile. Stills guys also hand holding.

Eventually one of the TV guys had enough and booted the out of town crew tripod almost knocking it over. The out of towners soon got the message.
