I'm looking for a B&W plug in wondering which is better between Nik and topaz .. I understand Nik is a complete package that's ok, if I go topaz I may get one or 2 of the other items ... I missed the black Friday sale on topaz and the full package is now out of my range but maybe 2 or 3 items , but its mainly the b/w I'm looking for .also anyone had experience of the topaz mask package ..any better than using the refine in PShop/lightroom ? thanks Phil

I think NIK's Silver Efex Pro is defacto standard for B&W conversion.

Nik. Agree - the industry standard. Plus its the most suported. Note that there are free downloadable presets for Nik products all over the internet, some of them quite good.

I would definitely say Nik hands down, I own both as well as onOne Photostudio 8 and RadLab products and the most used are Nik and RadLab I would say!

NIK is the way to go and the other items that come with it adds to the overall package.
I also use the Onone PPS 7.5 and BETA 8 and they work good but I do like to ability to look at each zone that NIK provides.
