Hey guys a quick question for you.

How can I make my jewelry photos look good? I thought the best way to take product shots is always on a white BG with good lighting, however I find my images to be extremely boring & want to change the whole look of my image & experimenting outside of a light box.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

The following are some images I have taken, they are very boring & I can't stand to even look at them :( I wonder how my customers feel.

Any ideas & suggestions will be really appreciated.

Equipment I will be using is a Canon 450d, Tamron 17-50 & a Canon 580 ex II.

Thanks in advance.

black velvet, complimentary colors as background, a piece of driftwood or something rusty to hang things from, a model wearing them, a jewelry box where things hang out....

but I don't find your samples that bad, I'd maybe play with the tone curve a bit to add some pop.

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

A jewelry box where things hang out sounds really good, thanks for that :)
