The game will last 7 days and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions at any time. This is a good competition for learning new methods, so let's make it a bit more dynamic. I will be judging edits, not comments. Feel free to comment on the original image as well.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #500".

Submissions end, Saturday December 14th, 2013 at 7:30pm GMT and a winner will be announced.

Here's one.

Edited in Lightroom.

Used GND tool on the sky to bring out definition in the clouds and add a little blue to the sky. (exposure -1.0, contrast = 38, shadows = 36, clarity = 31, sharpness = 9)

General adjustments:
Highlights -75
Shadows +75
Clarity +25
Whites +15
Blacks -15
Vibrance +10
Saturation +10
Strong Contrast
Sharpening = 30
Mask = 40

Cropped slightly to bring the foreground rock a little lower in the frame.

Cropped (severely), added in three other images. The house was from an image I shot from the castle in Salzburg, the city in the upper right corner is Salzburg as seen from the castle, and the waterfall is a shot from the Marienbrucke up behind Neuschwanstein castle.

OK folks here goes - thanks to all who took part :-

frenchfx : I think the B&W does it justice.
mplezia : Great sky recovery and crop and the overall finish works very well.
Dawicka2 : Inventive use of the trough and good additions to subject.
T3 Heavy Shop : Very natural looking edit - much like the one I ended up with but your has a better crop than mine.
Krottski : I didn't envisage a sepia style finish would suit this - but it does. Good thinking!
M_Six : I had to re-read your description before I knew what you'd done Mark - but seriously good idea. I'm not moving there though - I bet the house gets damp....

For the splash of colour to brighten up the week , my vote goes to mplezia - over to you for the next B & A.
