I'm shooting at the concourse level, between the upper and lower sections, so I am not shooting through any glass, at least on these particular shots. We have "executive boxes" at this level, and usually through half of the game they are not used, simply because the people that have these boxes get free food at other places in the arena, which allows me the ability to use them. It's not a big arena, about 6200 capacity, so shooting from the concourse level isn't that steep, and some of the shots across to the other side look like they are at ice level, like 2 and 5. Hockey is certainly fun to shoot, and keeps you on your toes. If you ever have the chance to shoot, I would give it a go! Thanks for the reply. Our local rink for WHL is about 5000 seats. I've emailed the team and haven't heard back but from what I've heard you need a media pass to shoot and since I don't work for any publications I think I might be out of luck.

Yeah, most places you will need a media pass. What I would recommend doing is contacting any media outlets in your area to see if they would like any coverage of the team. Any newspaper, whether it's a once a week paper, etc., try all of them. If that fails, you can try to find some blog sites that write about the team and see if they need anyone shooting, and you can piggyback with them. Just keep looking around and eventually something will open up and you'll be in! www.ReicherStudios.com

I've got a couple hooks in the water and I've been slowly putting together a small portfolio to show that I am capable of taking photos and not just some guy trying to get into the game for free.

Thanks for the comments! I love trying to get the puck hitting the net, which is why I tend to have so many 'tender shots. I like having a shot that tells a story, which those usually tend to do. www.ReicherStudios.com
