Not a bait thread, so please don't turn this into one. Just curious if Canon applies the same type of coating technology with their L lenses for flare resistance etc.
having used Nikon lenses and Canon, to me it seems like in back lit situations, Nikon does a better job handling flare, ghosting and retaining contrast inl ess than ideal situations. I haven't used every Canon lens but have owned most primes, and IMO the best flare resistant is the Canon 24L II and 24-70 Lii which to me is not a surprise since both lenses have newer technology. I know the 24 L ii has anti-reflective SWC (Sub-Wavelength Coating) I can't remember if the 24-70L ii has one.
