Hooded Merganser Glory! - S.W. Florida

This image was created a few days ago here in Sarasota, FL. It's nice to photograph something a little different before my 2014 season.

Canon 1D MKIV, Canon 800mm L @ f/8, 1/1500 sec, ISO 640 in Manual mode.

Thanks!

Very nice, Maxis; it's interesting the head feathers look brown in this photo rather than black; it must be the angle of the Florida sunlight.

Beautiful shot as always, Maxis! Where do you find these ducks in our area? Are they just in the Sarasota area? I never seem to see anything but Mallards and an occasional Blue-Winged Teal.

They are all over Sarasota right now. In fact, I'm looking at two out the window right now. This pond is on a private property.

Good luck and stay in touch!
