Here's one from a shoot a couple of days ago. I'm loving the sharpness wide open!
I saved for web so don't mind the slight loss of detail :/

i really like this shot. very sharp and the PP work looks really nice. simple and very effective with the lighting. is that vignetting from the lens or did you PP that in? i know that this lens vignette on my 1dm2.

Thanks :) there is slight vignetting in the original file but it was exaggerated due to increasing the contrasts in pp. I love the way the 17-40L vignettes. It's enough to be noticeable but not too much.

What do you guys think of this lens as a walkaround on a 1series (1.3x) crop? Wish it was a lil faster..

I don't recommend this lens as a walkaround, it is truly great WIDE lens even not that horrible wide on 1.3x, but for landscapes and some wide outdoor it will be nice, i recommend 24-105L to be as a walkaround lens, and if you can afford then go with 24-70L, Not sure if Sigma 24-70 is good enough for that

I like using the 17-40L as a walk around lens. The only downside is, if you want to take candid pictures of people, you'll be all up in their grill @ 17mm....

I shot a Hospital press dinner exlusively with the 17-40L and I'm sure people were thinking I was nuts getting in the CEO's face while he was speaking at the podium. Owell... ;)

I'm editing the shots now, hopefully they're not too noisy.
