More UWA from the York Minster:

More wide angle fun from the 17-40. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't a sharp lens.

Thank you - the shot is at 17mm but I had to crop out the vignette with stacked CPL and ND filter, so it should be wider..

Your shooting snowboarders - 17-40 allows you to get in close - perfect for you.. and dam you have the 35 L, I so love that lens but it's off my budget, settled for the 100mm 2.8 L IS Macro instead :D

Stunning set - we have the Dom here in Paderborn, might fire my butt down there and get some inside shots and yes you are right, 17-40 is so dam sharp!

How close is the MFD on the 17-40? Could probably take some cool picture at 17mm when they are railing or jumping :) looks like a fun lense, to bad it doesnt have a 72mm filter diameter since i have a 72 CPL filter :(

yea the 35L is my favorite lense that i have ever used, so sharp even wide open, colors, bokeh,af and the FL is pretty sweet!

The 100L macro is sharp and probably a fun lense too, would have been awesome to test one out sometime!

You have alot great stuff on your flickr ;)

Thank you!
I use a Nikon polariser, not cheap but gives a very strong polarisation and is slim enough to not induce a lot of vignetting on full frame cameras.

Here's one that proves the 17-40 can also be effective as a wildlife lens, just need a little bit of patience and out of box thinking and a remote release.

I know I'll miss it but lately I found myself shooting landscapes and architecture with my 24L and Samyng 14 99% of the time. I fear I might be turning into a prime photographer without noticing :)
