Quick shot, wide open. Looks like it lost a bit of its sharpness through upload though.

Any ideas why my pics look lighter when I upload them to the web than they do when viewed in LR3? Eddie Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Can anyone confirm that it works well at 17mm or even show a sample pic? Ive read some places at 17mm cpols can give an odd polirisation with a dark band in the sky. It's purely a fact of physics (i.e. not different for different lens designs or filter manufacturers). The sky is most strongly polarised at a 90-degree angle to the direction of the sun, and less so progressivley away from that angle. An ultrawide, capable of showing a large angular portion of sky, will therefore likely pick up areas of differing degrees of polarisation. In the worst cases this will show as a dark band in the sky. Mark.

Thanks Mark, I suppose what I'm asking now then is, is a cpl filter a good investment for an uwa lens in terms of being able to manage this issue? Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

On your 17-40 you'll have less of a problem at the longer end, so it is probably still worth it. Mark.
