I'm going to be buying the 24-105L which is also 77mm filter size so think I'll give it a go then, thanks

Next question, are "slim" filters necessary or is that only if i want to stack at 17mm with say a nd and c.pol?

My camera shop called and told me my lens has arrived! I recently bought a Vivitar 19-35 (for a song) and had so much fun with it (its an amazingly good lens for how cheap they are) I just had to upgrade to the real McCoy. I just have to wait for a check to come in and I'm going to be all over this thing.

It works as fine as it can on an UW. I love it on mine. I dont mind the scattered difference in skies either. I would buy it again if it matters. if you're using it on a FF you'll often find that 17mm is too wide for some shots. so don't worry about it.
