Nice pictures Rayman! I wish I know how to stich pictures together...
Love to go to San Diego again.

Zoom in and out while recording. See if the image is much darker when zoomed in. Looks like I'm almost losing a half stop at 40mm compared to 17mm. My experience: 40mm image: http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2958/40mmq.jpg 17mm image: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7382/17mmf.jpg 17mm 100 crop: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2596/17mm100crop.jpg All I did was stand in the same place with the same settings and zoom in/out. Here's a video of it: http://vimeo.com/27173912 I bought this lens from Canon refurbished a few weeks ago. Not sure if this is normal or not. You're zooming in and out of a bright sunlit spot on a wall going in and out of shadow. Of course it will go lighter and darker because of the metering averaging the whole scene and the change in light. No discernible change in exposure in live view (with exposure simulation both on and off) and a noticeable change in movie mode. Also, snapping a picture while recording video shows the same effect; snapping a tight and a wide picture in live view does not.

I don't have a fast shutter speed to show how it really is, but this one is pretty close to what it looks like to the naked eye. (This was taken on a different day) Long exposure
I must go try it again sometime at 17mm to get more of the water in the shot to see what happens lower down stream Canon EOS 1DX | Canon EOS 6D | 16-35mm f/2.8 L MKII | 24-70mm f/2.8 L MKII | 24-105mm f/4.0 L | 100mm macro f/2.8 L | 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS MKII | 400mm f/5.6 L | EF 2x II | 580 EX II | MR-14EX |
