I just bought this lens, but my pictures do not look like the ones posted in this section. I use a T2i, btw. Wow. I really feel like I have so much to learn. Wonderful pictures, everyone.

vmlopes, have you tried the 16-35 lens and if so, what made you stick to the 17-40? I will receive my new 5DII next week and I am having hard time deciding on a UWA lens for FF...

I haven't so not really qualified to comment on its qualities, but for me the cost does not warrant it as I dont need the f/2.8. Have read many reviews and it does not give much over the 17-40 other than cost IMO.

To be honest I would like sometimes to go even wider, but a buddy I do this with has a Sigma 12-24 and I have borrowed that on occasions...........a great lens also.

Dan, if you want the 2.8, you might want to look at the Tokina 16-28. I think they've ironed out their initial problems. Seems to be a really sweet lens.

What happened here?
Looks like some kind of el cheapo UV filter or something? Maybe combined with a really foggy front element?

Looks like it was shot from a moving car by the looks of it.

Anyone who says they've never seen a filter spoil a shot should have a look at this one.
