WOW!
I'm having a hard time loving my 17-40, but pictures like this is the one that convince me it's an awesome lens (it's not the lens, it's me)

Coming from a crop sensor, with some GREAT wide angles, I found myself not liking the 17-40 at first also...

I had the Sigma 8-16 on my 7D, and that lens is just fun... no other word for it. Color rendition and contrast were great... I loved the distortion it provided...

The 17-40 is the "grown-up" wide angle... it's honestly kind of boring... but it accepts filters, has great image quality, and is very consistent.... it's grown on me.. but I had to add a Sigma 15mm FE to keep the "fun" factor.

Yes. I know I'm limited by my own skills, or more, habits.
It's a fine zoom, but very safe/boring if one is artistically challenged, like myself. :)
Having the same dillema with finding replacement for Sigma 30/1.4 -
love the Zeiss 2/35, but I still miss that small light package of the sigma

When radials stop dripping, you start worrying. ;)

Thanks a lot. I came from 24-105 -> 17-40 so I am appreciating the wide angle more. :)

I think It's right next to the can of relative bearing grease. Beautiful shot Jay and a great way to display the highly polished aluminum skin.
