Hello
I'm wondering about a gift I want to make (about 150$) for a pocket camera.

I am interested in
- good quality sensor with decent high iso performance and color depth

I am not interested in
- superzoom cameras (for me 3x or 5x is enough)
- manual control.. the person I'll give this gift will use it only in auto mode...

The problem is that "good sensors" are usually in more expensive "semi-pro" pocket camera.

Is there any lower budget option?
Is there any site that compare sensor performane (like dxomark) but even for just cheap pocket cameras?

thank you

well.. with a s90 or s95 there will be manual controls and stuff like that (that the person will have this camera will not use..)
But with that I'd get a "older" sensor, and about sensor, newer technology is usually better technology...

Go with the 330HS, has very good CMOS sensor, less noise in low light and less manual controls. Image quality is just as good as s100/110 if not abit better. Fits in pocket, although a 10x zoom its not any bigger than the other canon compacts.
