Lens?

So story was, i attached a third party hood to my lens. Filter got stuck, next thing that happened, the zoom mech broke, but this was after i decided to remove the lens from my rebel t2i. So in the trial, i was afraid i might damage the mounts on my body. Is there any chance so?

You could have damaged the zoom when you were trying to get the filter off, if you were holding the lens by the zoom ring. You may have ended up turning it past it's normal range, and broke something.

For future reference, either get yourself a filter wrench (about $5), or use a rubber band on the filter when turning (that's what I use). Makes it easier.

I don't know how you would break the camera mount without doing something forcible.

What lens were you using?

Those plastic mounts can be easily damaged. I've seen quite a few, but am glad to say I'm not the responsible party with any of them.

Tamron 17-50. But I guess most of the force was at the zoomring

The Tamron 17-50 is not easy to break a mount on. My one is pretty sturdy. I hope you didn't have it mounted when removing the stuck filter, probably a disaster waiting to happen and probably why you broke the zoom on a rather sturdy lens. I got one stuck, I just held it tight in between my legs sitting down then removed it. This then renders it unable to move the zoom or focus rings, thus not breaking a lens. There is also a zoom lock on the lens, have you checked this? It might of got engaged by accident.
