thanks ewheeler20. I ask because RRS has indicated to me that the MPR-CL has been shortened and they are now recommending the MPR-CL II. how long is your MPR-CL?

Scatterbrained and butterfly2937: the Boomerang does indeed look very functional and quite suited to the task. the high part count, bearings, screws, moving parts, and what appears to be about a 4 oz heavier solution give me pause.
