As per topic. Thinking of getting one of those yongnuo flashes, all those figures are very confusing to me, like E-TTL etc etc. What should I be looking at? Thanks!

I dont know about nikon, but for canon its a flash function. In HSS mode the flash switches from a single flash to series of pulses to emulate a continuous light source so to some degree the camera doesnt matter.
