I went for a 2 hour drive yesterday afternoon and thought I'd share some of the critters I "caught." All shots taken with a T3i and 100-400L. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.

Nice work! I've been chasing after porcupines, hoping to get something like what you've captured, but every time the light has been lousy. Just curious, roughly where are you at? I'm in Musselshell Co, east of Roundup.

Thanks guys! Ken, I'm in Miles City. These were all taken about 20-30 miles south of Miles City. The porcupine was pure dumb luck, it was sleeping in a tree right by the road. When I first saw the dark shape in the tree I thought it might be an eagle, but instead I found this fella snoozing away. Had to wade through a ditch full of snow to get a decent angle for a shot, but it was worth it.

I love eastern Montana! I wish I was able to get over there more often to photograph wildlife.

I especially like the first image. A cottontail rabbit in the snow . . . darn that's great! You have some really nice light on him.

I have really wanted to find some opportunities to photograph that species in snow, but have had no success thus far. Cottontails are really tough for me; a "nemesis" species, if you will.
