Hi Peter2516
I have placed my order for this great lens and hope to get it start of next month.
If you use a 1.4X convertor on this lens, do you lose autofocus? I have a Canon 7D will it autofocus with this combination?

When did you order it? And from where? You may have a long wait.

With this particular model Kenko teleplus pro 300 DGX (blue dot) it won't AF with my 7D, Even in a very good contrast, I tried it several times but I only got frustrated it AF once or twice but it will just frustrates you.

I don't know with the other Kenko 1.4x TC like the mc4 or mc7 DG and DGX model. But with my 1DmkII it does focus right away in any subject near or far, I feel like there is no TC attached when I have on my 1DMKII.

When I get a chance to go to the store I will try out other kenko 1.4x model.

7D is notorious when it comes to TCs. You can try the "taping pins" trick.. But knowing 7D, it's a long shot..

I'm absolutely loving the crispness of this new Tamron 150-600 lens.. The keeper rate is quite high, and images remain sharp even at the 600mm end. Couple of caveats tho, you kinda need a high shutter speed to keep it sharp.. and at times the AF just doesn't work.. pushing/releasing the button does nothing.. doesn't even bother to try and focus.. but, maybe there's a trick to it..

Anyway, here's some from today.. Link to my flickr album if you want to see all the shots..

Check some previous posts, it was mentioned that some cameras have a default setting that the lens won't try to focus in some situations and you need to change it to always try to focus. This might be the issue you have so worth checking.

Vllado excellent air show series. Wow they are sharp and vivid colors.
Sometimes the distance limiter does the trick, those small things sometimes they are easy to forget I know I do :) and again by half press the back button or shutter or whatever your designated button for AF by simply tap to wake it up :).
