Wow I can't believe how slow Tamron to produce more of this lens they must be tweaking something like AI servo for some camera bodies like 7D, you guys who are waiting are in luck if that is one of the reason of the delay.

Hello to all, I'm new here and read the whole thread. Awesome photos by all ! I recently purchased the 150-600 and I'm still learning...keeper rate at this time is low.

I mostly used it handheld but this weekend I'll try a few shots on the monopod.:)

Welcome to the thread. Same with me mostly handheld but I prefer to use this lens with tripod and even with that I leave the VC on. Handholding this lens is difficult at least for me I felt that way in the first couple of weeks I have it, but now I got used to handholding it but still prefer using it with the tripod wherever I can use a tripod.

Well, the 150-600 isn't all they are up to. They are releasing a new superzoom, a 16-300, I believe, that will probably make them a lot more money than the 150-600 at the end of the day. They are also supposed to be releasing the non-Canon mount versions of the 150-600 about now. Plus they have to maintain inventory on the other lenses in their lineup. Their production capacity is not infinite, and I am sure that compromises have to be made.

Since I have to wait anyway, I hope that your speculation about fixing the AI servo is correct!

^^^ Agreed. I forgot about that new lens they just announced. They need more manpower. :) The future is looking bright for them.
