She's back :) Wish I had eagles or osprey nearby :(
But for the initial post update test a macro at 600mm:

so I have to ask about this top bird here, when you look at it at full size on flicker there seem's to be a bunch of black dots (like the picture is breaking apart), behind the bottom foot and up on the left (to us) breast. I was just wondering what would cause that affect.

I can see what you mean, I'm pretty sure when I sharpened it in Lightroom I used the sharpening brush. I probably forgot to un check the auto mask button, with the auto mask button selected it only selectes the pixels directly under the center of the cursor and that's why it has the black dots, not home right now but I'll look at it in LR and see if that's the effect your seeing.

I think it's just a tad oversharpened. Looks like it was taken with a 60D at ISO 800, which is going to have a bit of noise. Add some sharpening to that noise and you start to get that effect.

Hi all, I am from Ukraine and I am shooting birds for already half a year and it's come time to get good lenses for my body 5dmk3. Unfortunately, the prices of lenses are not that they have to be in my country.
For example:
Canon 400mm f/5.6L EF USM - 1316$
Canon 300mm f/4.0 L IS EF USM - 1350$ + Canon EF 1.4x Extender III - 511$ = 1861$
Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens Canon - 1630$

What do you think I have to choose for bird photography and wildlife only (and why)?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
