Palmor, those are incredible. Really shows off the sharpness of this lens.

This isn't the greatest shot in the world, but I have to share it because it shows off what this lens can do as well. This photo was taken at dusk, with virtually NO available light. Hand-held at 1/80 sec., wide open at F/6.3 and ISO cranked to 3200. That's an effective focal length of 960mm, hand-held at 1/80 sec. Unbelievable.

Here's a few I took on my commute home, at more "reasonable" shutter speeds. ;)

Great stuff here over the past 2 pages guys, too many to keep up with!
Gabe, welcome back!
Craig, awesome series of ducks and the sandpiper is very nice!
John, Great shots of the snowy, I'd love to just see one in the wild, but getting a keeper photograph of one would be incredible!

I just got a 1d4 today, looking forward to getting some sunny weather to shoot the Big Tammy on the 1d body.

If it pairs up to your 1D4 anything like mine does to my recently acquired 1D4 then I think you are going to like it...quite a lot

You know I bring it with me but it never makes its way to the camera. I don't use it as much since I got the Tamron.

Thanks JVthePT. :)

Could not resist the moon last night. Tripod and AF. I tried Manual focus but too tough..so went to Live View on my 7D Mark2..too much jiggling of image. So AF seems best.

Pretty good effort Pat your settings are very similar to mine. I think the issue is that it has some motion blur. Did you use a timer or remote trigger?
Also, when I photograph the Moon, I take a bunch of photos in a row. As you might have seen on the LCD (if you used 10x view), image quality constantly changes, second by second. Heat currents rising really mess with image quality. So one image may be nice and sharp, the next one a second later could be blurry.
