Pretty awful weather every where across the country (USA at least) this past week. Even here in Florida.

I'll be getting out the next few days hopefully for some Osprey & local coastal birds.

Very best,

Nope you did not Ron. Nice one btw.
:) Me just busy buying gifts and souvenirs for my siblings and relatives on my next vacation to Manila. No time for taking pictures for the next 2 weeks and will be in Manila for almost a month hopefully I can post some pictures from there too. Will be bringing my lens and I arranged some days for bird/wildlife photography. Me so excited :).

I am excited knowing you are going to be somewhere to take photos of the local birds. My sister in law is from the Philipines and she tells me there are some really cool animals and specifically birds there.

Trust me, I am so looking forward to the beginning of spring and the appearance of some color on the trees, ground and in general. It was a particularly cold winter and these last week of 60+ has done wonders for my spirit. Now I just need time to take some photos. I got so fed up I took a shot of of my dogs looking through the window yesterday. I just needed to get some time behind the camera.

Here you go Ron. Yesterday we were promised Blue skies and sun. We got a foggy gray day. So instead of the eagles we were hoping for, we got waterfowl. But it is the first Red Throated Loon I've seen. Not overly common in Western New York.

Guys, I need to ask a question again, maybe this time more Tamron users will chime in. I'm looking for 5DIII owners who use the Tamron 150-600.

I have a minor 5DIII + 150-600 problem.
My 150-600 is a nice, sharp copy, AF is pretty good, updated firmware, etc. It works fine on all 4 of my bodies (70D, 5D classic, T4i, and 5DIII), EXCEPT for the center AF point of the 5DIII. If I aim the camera at a brighter subject (sunlit white car, snowy footprints, etc.), the center AF point will often hunt, hesitate, or even go totally out of focus and gives up, while all the other AF points work fine on that same subject. All other camera's center points also work fine on that same subject. If the subject is not bright, just "normal" so to speak, the center point works fine too.

It's a puzzle and I'd like to know if others are experiencing this same problem. Most of the time it's not a problem, but sometimes it bugs me.

any 5DIII + Tamron users out there?

That's true we have more than 100 bird species that endemic in the Philippines. I will be really happy if I can photograph just a few. :) I am glad your sister in law is from the Phils. If she cooks try her pancit and lumpia or adobo :).

I have had more than my share of her lumpia. It is one of my weaknesses. I thankfully, have a very culturally diverse family, so I am quite the foody. My wife was born in Mexico, and my sister in law is from PI and my brother in law is from the south and his southern style food is out of this world. Unfortunately this has all taken a toll on my waistline over the years. LOL

LOL, That is awesome, you've got to taste different type of food. I love Mexican food.
