First shot with my 7D2 and Tamzooka worth posting. Caught this guy keeping watch over the neighborhood while I was washing the cars this evening. Glad he was patient enough to wait for me while I went inside and grabbed the camera!

Love the second shot! Have you compared your Sigma lens with the Tamzooka?

Cheers

Alec

Alec, Good catch. I have not compared because the exif data on this site picked up Sigma, when my lens is in fact the Tamron. I THINK it's sorted out now.
The two Sigma lenses I own ARE good performers, but their long tele-zoom is a stranger to me.

Ahhh - sorry for doubting your bone fides :) . Actually after posting I found an example in another thread of Exif data reporting a Sigma 150-600 S as a Canon 100-400 II, so I realised your post was probably another example of the same sort of problem.

Cheers

Alec

I'm on the verge of selling this lens but I come back to this thread and see the wonderful photos possible, then hesitate, then put it back on the shelf :(

Is there something specific you are dealing with that makes you want to sell it? It is definitely something you need to learn how to use. I am still trying to dial in the MFA on the long end for Eagles in my area. But this lenses learning curve is something you can/will eventually get over. Then that is where the magic happens. I just have to look at some of the images posted here by Peter and a few others users to know I have to just continue to work at refining my technique.
With that said, you do have to kind of need the lens for certain types of shots. I love shooting wildlife and moon shots, so this lens is the one that I can't give up because of those reasons. If I was not a wildlife shooter, this lens would not be nearly as needed in my kit.

I agree that there was a learning curve for me with this lens, and I was pretty unhappy with it for like 2 months when I first got it. Seeing photos from people in this thread, and other places online gave me hope, and eventually I got the MFA and my technique down and started getting good results.
