You're totally right. It's not only static wildlife I shoot but it has been that for two years now cause the 6D is not a good camera (even if it can) for moving subjects. 6D and Tamron 150-600 have been a very good combo for me. The lens is not fast but that saves up from the sensor in 6E which is phenomenal in high iso.

Earlier today I called the Tamron service about upgrading the firmware. I live maybe 1 hour from the service location so I asked if it was okay to come by with the lens. Why send it by post that takes 2-3 days extra when I can do it by myself.

I arrived to the service with the lens and the guy asked me if I had time to stay one hour.
One hour later my lens is updated. What a service! I'm happy. I haven't test it yet.

When I came home I got a message that said that my 7D Mark II had arrived.
What a day, first a updated Tamron lens within 1 hour and 1 hour later I got the 7D Mark II in my hands ❤️

Thanks Peter! And your getting some great shots with it. I have been looking at some videos and reading the manual a bit...its a bit more complex than my 60D. :)

You will get it right away, me for now I am using case 1 and now move to case 2 but still would like to use case 1, it is the most safe bet with all the cases of 6. So many great features with custom buttons in terms of operation.

I got a chance to get a 7d mkii tomorrow. I also have a chance to send it back. Thinking of the 7d mkii or 70D + a macro lens (same money). How does the 7d mkii performs with Tammy 150-600? I got a 6d now and I'm happy with that combo. I've never used a camera with an af system like7d mkii so maybe your answer can help me in my decision about these two camera bodies (70D vs 7d mkii) I will also begin to shoot videos in the future.

Send me a PM and when I have time, I will share my experience with the pieces of equipment you mentioned. I owned all of those in the past, and still do some of them.

Let me just say in a nutshell that even though the 7DII is great for birds and works nicely with the Tamron 150-600, I ended up selling it because it was down to keeping either the 7DII or my 70D. In my equipment line-up currently the 70D has a bit more value than the 7DII had and thus won the "staying alive" contest against the 7DII.

I love using my Tamron with the 6D. When we visited family and friends in Hungary over the summer, I decided to take my 6D and 3 lenses to Europe out of my extensive list of stuff. Tamron 150-600, Canon 24-105L, and the 85 1.8. I was happy shooting storks, finches, etc. with the 6D + Tamron. Of course, a 7DII would have been great too, but the 6D was the winner as an overall performer on that trip, plus I didn't even have the 7DII back then :)

The 70D is one of my most versatile cameras, and in some aspects even better than the 7DII for birds. That is the flippy and touch screen LCD. It's a breeze to compose super low angle shots on the beach or any other location where you might not want to or aren't dresses to lie down on your belly in the sand/mud. I shot with it on my honeymoon in Florida using the LCD and got some great shots with my former Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS.

Anyway, shoot me questions via pm and I'll answered them based on my experience.

If you got them all at once you wouldn't have time to play with all of them, this way you can spread out the "joy" of new stuff! Hope you like that printer, I really love mine. I find that any of the Canon papers work great but the Platinum's are just awesome, esp for B/W. If you print and don't mount under glass or plexi you can buy spray cans of lacquer to coat them with and it makes them very durable. I use a lacquer from Moab and I've then used spray adhesive to mount to foam core or Gator board and they look nice and you can dust them off easily. Take a day or two to print some 13x19's of your favorite shots so you can get acquainted with that printer and ready for the stellar shots you'll get with the new camera.
Can't wait to see some of those Grizzlies shot with the new rig!

Thanks! Very true and a great way to look at it. :) I have not printed too much my very old Epson R300 just died so the freebie is just what the doctor ordered. I'm sure I'll get it figured out (both the Camera and the Printer) and thats half the fun. The bundle also came with 50 sheets of 13x19 Canon Pro Luster paper so I can mess around.
