Amen. I fortunately live near a dam where there are always Kingfishers on the river below the outlet. That does not make it easier to get good photos, but it increases your opportunities. I have photographed one Brown Creeper, which I just happened to notice by dumb luck. Talk about camouflage! I have a few good Kinglet shots, but none with the "ruby" crest showing like the nice shot posted by Archer. Kudos to your GF.

Here it is, although for now is a combination of photos and chat also, seems some people who bought this lens waiting for delivery, And also because of a not so good weather condition outside owners of this lens still confined in their home. This lens still new that is why maybe in any threads that about this lens most are just chatting but sure once this lens hit the store new owners will be gladly to post.

Hard to decide between Tamron 150-600mm and Canon 100-400mm

After all the buzz about this lens, I took time to give my 100-400 + Kenko 1.4x TC a run in field. On my 5D3, it gives me 560mm at f/8 and going by the results, I have a good mind to stick with this combo for now unless I start hearing people consistently talk more good stuff than bad about this lens. I mean if the Tammy's AF is still being questioned by quite a few especially when shooting subjects in motion, I am not losing much by not buying the Tammy, am I??
How does this look to you folks...

Yes, though for some people it is an easy decision.

Horrible weather, and its actually snowing in these photos.

tried in bic camera , yodobashi camera and four other camera stores in osaka, everywhere it is sold out and are saying it will take two months for new lenses to arrive. tamron seriously screwed it up I guess.

Would you rather they doubled production at the cost of poorer quality control? I wouldn't. And considering that the main use of this lens is likely for birds and wildlife, which is done much more in the northern summer, I expect there will be enough to go around by the time most people really want them for.

I think they know what they're doing from a business POV. Producing fewer of them that they know are good will help the reputation of the lens, and boost the longer-term demand. If they pushed a bunch of them out but with a lot more poor copies, that would have hurt them badly over the long run.

On the contrary I think they got it right, in terms of manufacturing a good lens at a competitive price - that's why it's sold out.
