This is a re-edit I did of my youngest granddaughter. I had her reading a book and liked this tight crop showing her concentration.
Is the crop too tight?
Lost in thought

I think it would be better off if you allowed the viewer to see what she was concentrating on, or at least a lead to it and a tease of the corner of the book. 6D + Red Rings |SeanWebsterPhoto

Thanks for the input. I probably shouldn't have mentioned the book. The idea was to have the viewer wonder what she's looking at / concentrating on. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

Dec 14, 2013 07:51 | #4 I think it is a hair too tight, but more so, I wish the pose allowed for a little more access to the face. She's facing downward so much that she's cut off from the viewer. It's a nice shot, but I don't think it quite conveys the intended quality of concentration. Specializing in Theatrical Photography. See my work at:

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. This was a shot I took last year and couldn't decide whether it was worthy or not. I tried this crop late last night in a state of sleeplessness (couldn't seem to fall asleep) and liked it at the time. The edge of her glasses would not have been so bad if they had been sitting on her nose straighter. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

Thanks. Yeah, the book's a dead giveaway of what she's concentrating on. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||

Well, the original image was cropped to remove any sign of what she was concentrating on. In the second image, it's readily apparent what she is concentrating on hence the book was a "dead giveaway" as to just what she was concentrating on in the first image. Gene - My Photo Gallery ||
