I have been wondering about this subject and read a few posts on here and other sites.

We know some models have just awesome skin but we also know allot have been fixed in PP.
The one thing I have been seeing more of is how do you say "even skin texture". Where both sides of the face have the same texture and looks very even, if not almost fake to plastic looking or some are even to textured.

I'm not bashing this person at all and love their shots, but wondered how the heck to get such even skin texture, then I noticed it bleeds over to the bare skin on the arm of the model.

Any tutorials on this method or certain software used?

Here is a link to the shot I am referring to hope the OP doesn't mind.

Woah, dodging and burning, and a lot of it. Plenty of regular skin smoothing too.
Of course, no one actually uses the dodge and burn tools anymore nowadays, it's far more efficient and flexible to make a curves adjustment layer and brush in the adjustment, or alternatively make a middle gray (128/128/128) layer and set it to "overlay" or "soft light" and painting in with varying shades of gray.

What I'm talking about is called "sculpting", where you use the above method(s) to shape the face and even place shadows and highlights where there were none, of course you need good lighting to start.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Some basic links are in A question about sky and also be sure to look at post #9 of the Airport runway shoot link in my post.
