I'm looking for a genuine Canon tripod mount ring (#1694B001) for a 70-200 F/4. It's amazing how expensive these are. So far I've found it for $119 + $11 S&H. Without resorting to Ebay, where's the best deal I can find on one and not be a knock-off?

Thanks

I think that this sentence is mutually exclusive.

Don't knock the knock-offs. Mine came from Cowboy Studio and I doubt you would find any difference between it and a "Canon" one.

How long have you owned yours and how much have you used it?

I honestly don't know how old it is............... at least a year and a half. It doesn't see much use.

I have a genuine Canon one I'm not using and I will sell it to you! I sold my 70-200 f/4 when I got the f/2.8 but kept the tripod ring intending to sell it. I never got around to selling it. It's in perfect condition. I also have the Kirk arca swiss quick release plate on it if you are interested in that. Send me a PM if interested.

I am not sure they make one for your lens but I have an iShoot ring for my 100mm L macro. It is good quality and does exactly the same thing a Canon one would do and has held up well. I think I paid about $25 for mine but it was a while ago.

Do you really need a tripod ring for a 70-200 F4? That's a really light lens. I've never had a tripod ring on mine and it does just fine.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
