I've pulled off a blur-less 24mm shot at 1/10th of a second. ;)

Handheld no IS, 1/5s at 10mm with a crop camera. And yeah it's sharp. ;)

I think it was 1/50th of a second, no IS. (maybe 1/50th is not slow enough :P )

1/100 with a 400/5.6 - set to AV with the ISO too low, but I was just getting out of my car a saw this guy near by and took it as a grab shot without even looking at my settings. I was surprised when I saw the shutter speed.

Why do folks every once in a while need to see handheld shots with slow shutter speed and no IS ?!

The Duomo in Florence, Italy

.6 sec at f2.8 - it's a little unsharp, but not bad for a P&S and almost a half second shutter.

Well I have these two for starters.

0.8 seconds

Or this one, 0.6 seconds.

But I was using my wheelchair that day, so could slump down and get both elbows on the arm rests.

Can you define the cutoff for a slow shutter speed for the thread?

I would think it would have to be at least a full stop less than 1/focal length. To add to my earlier two, hows this? 1/80 @ 300 mm, Sigma 28-300 superzoom.

Thread would be more interesting with IS on, then you could get some 1/4 shots @ 300mm.
