Coyote

Hi,
This healthy coyote was in the field next to my house in coastal Massachusetts. He kept an eye on me, but seemed unconcerned with my presence as he trotted slowly across the field. Slight cropping and increased contrast in Aperture. Comments welcome.
Taken with Canon 7D, 100-400 @ 400, f/7.1, ISO 400, 1/3,200.

That's one big coyote! From his appearance (larger than a coyote) and his unconcerned behavior around you, it may be an Eastern Coywolf. Nice capture.

Great shot, love the Intensity of the eyes. It would have been cool to shoot from ground level where he was looking right at you.

Yes, I believe it to be a coywolf. Interesting "breed" that is spreading south and west.

Very cool shot. Coyote are exciting.
As for the Coywolf hybrid, not sure but we have big coyote out here in AZ.
Bigger than a German Shepard.

FYI a coyote that has been around for a couple of years knows what a rifle/shotgun looks like, so that is why he was checking you out so carefully. Here in Oklahoma some times they will sit and watch you when they think you are out of shooting range.
