Northern Harrier - Bosque del Apache

Several Harriers were feeding around Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge during the Festival of the Cranes. At times, I spotted as many as 4 feeding in the same area and close to each other. Sure was fun to photograph.

Canon 1D MKIV, Canon 800mm L @ f/8, 1/800 sec, ISO 1250 in Manual mode. Almost full frame.

Can't wait to return next year!

Thanks!

Beautiful. Nice when a great opportunity presents itself like that!

Excellent capture! These guys are tough to catch! Believe me, I've tried.

Shoot first and ask questions later.

Good shot, I'd like to have seen the bird at the other side of the frame though?

Lovely tones. I'm not crazy about the composition though. The right side of the image doesn't really add anything. Have you tried a square crop?

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.
